January 2022
Finally after almost two years!! Instead of salting sidewalks in Colorado, I’m salting margaritas on my sun deck, fishing my fanny off in my yak instead of freezing my derrière, wrestling snook instead of shoveling snow!! And the fish are very cooperative. Life’s good! More details and new fishing trips to come soon.

Hey Chris! Do you drive from Colorado to FL every year and bring the yaks? Do you have a 2nd home there?

Hi Bill. Yes have a place near Everglades City where I keep to yaks. Usually here in the winter and spring every year except this past one due to Covid.

Hey Chris, we seem to like the same locations. I am out around Gunnison and Salida every summer and Florida in the winter. I will be down around Port of Islands in February and March. Sounds like I’m close.

Good to see you back Chris! I’ve actually charted out your 5 lakes tour and am waiting on palling out a day’s fishing excursion in those backcountry lakes. Thanks so much for the wonderful write-up and the stories overall. Maybe I’ll see ya back there now that you are back.

Hi Luis. Thanks for the kind words. Just be sure to leave a few fish for us old codgers!

Hi Luis. If you’re looking at the East River, reservations are now required to kayak and fish there. Call Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve HQ for info.
